In late October 2023, three of my family members from the US visited Cambodia, which included my father. At 85, it was extra special to see him return to his home province of Battambang as part of their 10 day trip. This was his last trip since Covid in late 2019.
After a 24 hr layaway in the capitol, we left to the province. We began at our village of Kompong Pil, where we reconnected with my great aunt (90 years old) and their families, continued to Siem Reap-Angkor, and wrapped up at Kratie.

Today a familiar face returned to Cambodia: Alexandra! The twenty-something kon kaat (bi-racial) yoga instructor and vegan is back after a few months back home in Norway where her Khmer mother resides. She tells me that this trip would be up to 6 months to explore short term work in health and wellness (or maybe some modeling). If you have any good leads for her, drop a DM and tell her PDP sent you!

Today began the short-term residency of my newest roommate, Lyz. A recent high school graduate from Siem Reap, this gifted student is one of five recipients of the highly competitive SHE CAN Scholarship. Pending test results and satisfactory completion of a community service leadership project, Lyz will be elevated to a "Scholar" which would enable a full scholarship to study in US. Wish this rising star the best of luck!
